A returning favorite - the Galvanized Jazz Band is a dynamic group of Connecticut musicians devoted to energetic performance of hot dixieland, New Orleans jazz, blues, rags, stomps, struts, spirituals, swing, and classic popular songs from the past century. Bring your parasol and be prepared to party with the Galvanized Jazz Band!

The Jazz Arts Trio does not simply imitate. Rather, these three musicians infuse the music with their own vitality and interpretations, much the way a chamber music ensemble approaches Bach or Beethoven. This "classical" approach to jazz breaks down generational boundaries, delighting long-time jazz enthusiasts as well as those new to this great music. Jazz Arts Trio is keeping alive music that otherwise would live on only in recordings. Featuring Pianist Fred Moyer, with Peter Fraenkel (drums) and Peter Tillotson (bass).

The Driftwoods are the East Coast's original Beach Boys tribute band, bringing back the legendary vocal harmonies and the rock n' roll rhythms that you remember from the beach parties, high school dances, and bandstand tv, recreated with the same energy and excitement of the 1960's.

Winners of eleven big band contests, the Driftwoods have performed as the opening act for big names like Gary Lewis and the Playboys, the Rascals and others. Reminisce with great songs like California Girls, Surfin' USA, Wouldn't It Be Nice, Little Deuce Coup, I Get Around, God Only Knows, and more Fun, Fun, Fun.

Jump on board with MOXIE for a light quartet program of voices and swingin' rhythm, bringing toe-tapping favorites, mostly from the 30's, 40's and 50's, with a distinctive MOXIE twist. The group's three singers/violinists and keyboard will bring some of its 'greatest hits' to Nelson Hall for an evening of music that all ages will enjoy. 

The full MOXIE band played to a sold-out house last summer at Nelson Hall.
